Our Director

Hi, my name is Terri Xiang, I am the Owner and Director of Little Hands International Preschool. With a background in Education, an International Montessori certified teacher, and double certification in Positive Discipline, I have nearly 30 years of educational experience in China and United States. My commitment to celebrating diversity and nurturing inclusion is at the heart of our program.

One of China’s modern educators said, “A good educator uses fifty ways to teach one child, as there is not one way to teach fifty children.” Each child is different and unique, and every child deserves to be in a school that sees them as individual, and approaches learning with an intentional and distinctive lens. Little Hands International Preschool (LHIP) embodies the philosophy of providing children with infinite ways to learn, grow, and be their truest selves.

I have built our preschool on the bedrock of celebrating diversity and nurturing inclusion. I was born and raised in mainland China. I moved to Round Rock in the summer of 2007 when my daughter was five years old and ready to enter kindergarten. I have always believed that moving to Texas was one of the best decisions I have ever made. In Round Rock and all throughout Austin, I have experienced Texas to be a place of kindness, an ideal place to raise children. And you can’t beat the beautiful views of the Hill Country. My daughter is now a student at the University of North Texas in Denton and has not forgotten the love and acceptance she received right here in this local community.

I am also the author of two children’s books, “My 1st Book: Chinese & English” and “My 2nd Book: English & Chinese”, both available on Amazon.

In 2015, I founded LHIP in Round Rock. For five consecutive years, our school was voted the Best of Childcare in Round Rock. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 pandemic, we had to close our Round Rock doors in the Fall of 2020. But our story didn’t end there. Here we are, in our new location at 8830 Cainwood Lane! I fell in love the minute I set foot on this property. With spacious classrooms, one acre of beautiful land, and a quiet country-like setting, there is plenty of space for your child to learn, play and grow. Join us at Little Hands International Preschool as we create fun and happy memories as a community and a family!
